A delegation led by the Director General of the National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) recently completed a peer-learning mission to Pakistan.
The two countries are strengthening cooperation on digital identity and digital public infrastructure as they seek to improve citizen services and digital systems.
The visit focused on Pakistan’s experience in developing digital identity systems and linking them with other public services.
The delegation explored areas including digital identity, interoperability, digital payments, social protection and citizen services.
The mission provided an opportunity for Somali officials to learn from Pakistan’s experience and examine approaches that could support Somalia’s ongoing digital transformation.
The cooperation between the two nations is expected to promote the exchange of technical knowledge and practical experience between the two countries.
Both sides emphasized mutual learning and shared experience as Somalia continues efforts to build stronger and more accessible digital public infrastructure.
Digital technology has become increasingly important as countries around the world move toward digital systems to deliver faster, more efficient and accessible public services to their citizens.
