The Federal Government of Somalia has strongly condemned an Israeli attack on the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque. The government described the incident as a serious violation of sacred Islamic sites.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation once again emphasized Somalia’s solidarity with Palestine, stating that it opposes what it called the ongoing abuses committed by Israel.
“Somalia reiterates its unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people. We strongly condemn the ongoing abuses carried out by Israel and affirm our firm opposition to any violations of the sanctity of Islamic holy sites and international law.”
Somalia urged the international community including the United Nations and any parties able to act to not turn away from these violations, calling on them to uphold relevant international laws and prevent further harm.
It added that Israeli forces have committed various atrocities in territories under their control and in other areas beyond their control, including multiple acts of what it called indiscriminate aggression, which it said have been condemned by Somalia and other countries.
