The President of Puntland State, Said Abdullahi Deni, is ser to officially open the 57th session of the Puntland House of Representatives on Saturday, in a ceremony attended by the Speaker of Parliament, cabinet ministers, and senior government officials.
President Deni is expected to highlight the key achievements of his administration during the previous parliamentary recess and emphasize the importance of collaboration between the executive and legislative branches in advancing Puntland’s development agenda.
The president is expected to present key policy priorities, including the approval of agreements and draft laws previously endorsed by the Council of Ministers.
Today’s session marks the formal commencement of the 57th parliamentary sitting, as required by Puntland’s Constitution, which mandates that the sitting president inaugurates each legislative term.
The Speaker of the House is also scheduled to deliver a brief address outlining the parliamentary agenda for the new session, focusing on governance, security, and economic development.
