The Ethiopian Foreign Ministry Says Somalia and Ethiopia Agree to Collaborate on AUSSOM Mission and Strengthen Bilateral Relations.

A high-level Ethiopian delegation led by Minister of Defense, H.E. Engineer Aisha Mohammed, made an official working visit to Somalia on Thursday. Following the visit, the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced, “A high-level Ethiopian delegation led by Minister of Defense, H.E. Engineer Aisha Mohammed has made an official working visit to #Somalia. The two countries have agreed to collaborate on the AUSSOM mission and strengthen bilateral relations.”

This statement highlights a significant step in fostering cooperation between Somalia and Ethiopia, both key players in regional security and stability. The collaboration on the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) is expected to enhance Somalia’s transition to full security responsibility and strengthen ties between the neighboring nations.

While Ethiopia has confirmed the agreement, Somalia is yet to comment on the details of the meeting.
