Saudi media quoted the Ministry of Interior that in the past 36 hours, over 18,680 people have traveled out of the kingdom following the lifting of the travel ban.
All of these travelers are Saudi nationals according to the report and most of them departed from King Fahad Airport.
Most of the trip destinations were to the United Arab Emirates, followed by Egypt, Qatar, the United States and the United Kingdom as the travel ban remained imposed for a long time.
Close to six thousand (6,000) Saudi citizens crossed the border through border checkpoints and had their Covid-19 status confirmed for COVID negative certificates to be issued.
A statement issued by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia states that a person receiving the Covid-19 vaccine can travel after 14 days which means that the person interested in traveling should get the vaccine first.
In the meantime, the Saudi ministry of Interior has reiterated that its citizens are warned against traveling to countries that have been identified in a list issued earlier this week Countries that form the exempted travel list until a review is made are Afghanistan, Armenia, Belarus, DRC, India, Iran, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Syria, Turkey, Venezuela and Yemen.
