The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre, has today met with the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Djibouti to Somalia, Colonel Ismaan Dubbad Sugulle.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, the ambassador presented his credentials to President H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, as confirmed in a statement from the Prime Minister\u2019s office.<\/p>\n
Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre welcomed Ambassador Ismaan and expressed confidence that he will play an important role in fulfilling his mandate particularly by strengthening cooperation and improving ties between the two countries.<\/p>\n
The new ambassador in his part indicated that he would work to carry out his diplomatic responsibilities under the mission, building on the longstanding relationship between Djibouti and Somalia.<\/p>\n
Colonel Ismaan Dubbad Sugulle has military experience, having previously served as Commander of the Djibouti Armed Forces. He has also conducted visits to Somali forces within the country of the Hiil-Walaal mission.<\/p>\n
Djibouti and Somalia share strong historical and close people-to-people ties, strengthened by ongoing political dialogue, regional cooperation, and mutual support.<\/p>\n
The two countries also collaborate on security and development priorities, reflecting their long-standing partnership in the Horn of Africa.<\/p>\n
