In a message posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), President Mohamud expressed solidarity with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (@officialABAT) and extended his sympathies to the bereaved family and the nation at large.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn behalf of the people and Government of Somalia, I extend my sincere condolences to H.E. President @officialABAT, the Government, and the people of Nigeria on the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari. His lifelong service and commitment to Nigeria\u2019s stability and progress will be remembered.\u201d<\/p>\n
The late President Buhari, who led Nigeria from 2015 to 2023, was a former military ruler turned democratically elected leader. He is widely remembered for his anti-corruption drive, efforts to stabilize Nigeria\u2019s economy, and military campaigns against Boko Haram and other extremist groups in northeastern Nigeria.<\/p>\n
