The Deputy President of the Galmudug State, Ali dahir eid urged the National Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) to provide urgent assistance to the affected populations in the region.<\/p>\n
This appeal was made during a meeting with SoDMA Director Mohamud Maallim Abdulle at the agency’s headquarters in Mogadishu.<\/p>\n
The discussion focused on the humanitarian conditions in various areas of Galmudug, particularly those near the Ethiopian border.<\/p>\n
Deputy President highlighted the severe challenges many people are facing, including water scarcity, malnutrition, and homelessness. He called on SoDMA to expedite the delivery of aid to those in need.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, the deputy president Ali dahir eid also emphasized the importance of economic development in the region.<\/p>\n
He pointed out the livestock opportunities present in Galmudug and proposed the establishment of a modern facility for processing and preserving meat. He asserted that this initiative could significantly contribute to economic growth and job creation.<\/p>\n
In response,the Director assured that SoDMA would promptly address the urgent needs of the community. He added that the agency is prepared to collaborate with the Galmudug administration to implement the livestock facility, noting that such projects are expected to receive support from international partners and friends of Somalia<\/p>\n
