The National Secondary School Certificate Examinations officially kicked off today across Somalia, with more than 39,400 students sitting for the exams, according to the Ministry of Education.<\/p>\n
This year\u2019s candidates include 23,000 boys and 16,300 girls, drawn from various districts and regions throughout the country\u2014excluding the federal member states of Puntland and Somaliland, which conduct their own examinations.<\/p>\n
Speaking at the launch of the exams, Somalia\u2019s Deputy Minister of Education, Hon. Nuura Mustaf Mukhtaar, stated that significant reforms had been made to the examination system this year. These changes, she explained, aim to enhance transparency, public trust, and the overall quality of the exams.<\/p>\n
Nuura added that the examinations were “proceeding smoothly in districts such as Warshiikh, Ceeldheer, Buurhakaba, Laascaanood, and Buuhoodle, with tightened security and monitoring measures in place to curb any malpractice or cheating.”<\/p>\n
The Ministry of Education has called on all students to approach the exams with confidence and integrity, urging them to demonstrate the hard work and dedication they have shown throughout their academic journey.<\/p>\n
