The Somali Minister of Defense, Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur, accompanied by the Somali National Army Chief, Major General Ibrahim Sheikh Mukhudin, and other top officials, recently made a working official visit to Djibouti.<\/p>\n
The delegation held meetings with the Djiboutian Prime Minister, the Defense Minister, and top military leaders to discuss regional security issues and the upcoming African Union mission, which is set to commence in 2025.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur official visit to our brotherly country of Djibouti has concluded successfully. We discussed regional security and the new African Union mission launching in 2025. I was joined by the Chief of the Somali National Army, Major General Ibrahim Sheikh Mukhudin, and other delegates,\u201d said Somalia\u2019s Defense Minister<\/p>\n
Djibouti’s forces have been part of the ongoing ATMIS (African Union Transition Mission in Somalia) and are interested in participating in the forthcoming AUSSOM mission, scheduled to begin in 2025.<\/p>\n
Recently ,Somali leaders have visited several countries with troops stationed in Somalia except Ethiopia to discuss plans for the new mission.<\/p>\n
