The Union of Candidates and heads of State of Puntland, Galmudug, Jubbaland, South West and Hir-Shabelle held a farewell meeting in Mogadishu following the breakthrough in the negotiations towards the national elections.
The Candidates and heads of federal states have agreed to begin the elections immediately and return to Garowe, Dhusamareb, Jowhar, Baidoa and Kismayo.
State leaders are now returning to their bases to focus on security, hosting community delegates, incumbent candidates and the electoral Commission.
Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble and State leaders also met with representatives of the international community to discuss the implementation towards conducting elections in 60 days.
