US President Joe Biden plans to impose travel and visa restrictions on individuals in the offices of Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and President of Eritrea Isaias Afwerki following war crimes against the Tigray State of Northern Ethiopia.
Interference resulting from the postponement of the Ethiopian elections slated for November 2020 resulted in death, injury, displacement and severe destructions, in addition to indiscriminate killings, rape of women and targeting of some individuals.
The Foreign Policy (FP), which revealed particulars on this story in its publication , said that there was evidence of some of the crimes committed by the Ethiopian and Eretarian forces.
The United States will not issue the visa to individuals deemed to have taken a role in such violence, meaning they will be reluctant to travel to that country.
Videos recorded from the scenes seen by Mustaqbal show the Ethiopian army rounded people before shooting indiscriminately while some of them who escaped for their lives in the heavy fighting in Tigray were tortured.
