Strategic Meetings in Mahas, Hirran Region to Combat Al-Shabaab

In the town of Mahas, located in the Hiiraan region, military preparations are underway against Al-Shabaab (AS). Top Federal and regional officials are currently on-site to coordinate their efforts.

Former National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) chief, Abdullahi Mohamed Ali Sanbaloolshe, is expected to arrive in Mahas shortly.

He will join officials, including Ali Jeyte Osman and members of the Hiiraan regional administration, who are already present to strategize accelerate the ongoing tough operations against Al-Shabab fighters in the country.

These officials are anticipated to hold private meetings with various community sectors, particularly with government and local militia leaders. The discussions will focus on the recent conflict in Moqokori and strategies to reclaim the town from AS.

Moqokori, situated near the border of Hiiraan and Middle Shabelle regions, recently reportedly fell back into the hands of AS following a significant battle. The loss of this strategic area has prompted urgent discussions among local leaders and military officials.

The upcoming meetings in Mahas is said to highlight a united front in the fight against AS, emphasizing collaboration between military forces and local communities to restore security and reclaim lost territories.
