An stampede in India kills 12 and injured dozens at Hindu shrine in Kashmir, India on Saturday morning.
“Twelve pilgrims died and 14 others injured in a stampede in early morning today at Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine ,” said a senior police officer ,Mukesh Singh.
The injured were immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment he added.
A huge crowd of devotees led to the broke out of the stampede.
The crowd came to mark the beginning of the new year.
The prime Minister send a condolence message to the people affected.
“I am extremely saddened by the loss of lives due to the stampede in Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan,” the prime minister said in a condolence message.
