South West Leader vows tough Military operations to reclaim lost territories

South West State leader Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur Madobe has announced plans to launch tough operations to recapture territories seized by forces loyal to former regional president Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen.

Speaking publicly for the first time about the territories that have fallen out of his administration’s control, Madobe said preparations were underway to regain control of the affected areas.

He said his administration would work closely with local communities and security forces to reclaim towns and districts currently held by fighters aligned with former regional president Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen

Madobe urged residents to remain calm and cooperate with security forces preparing to launch operations against the fighters occupying parts of South West State.

“We are mobilising both civilians and security forces to retake the territories entered by Laftagareen’s forces and Al-Shabaab,” Madobe said.

The forces loyal to Laftagareen reportedly took control of several areas previously held by South West State Darwish forces without significant resistance.

The territorial losses have placed Madobe under growing security and political pressure as his administration seeks to restore control over the affected areas.
