Breakaway Somaliland President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi “Cirro” is set to visit Israel’s Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial during an official trip to the country, marking what is believed to be the first visit by a Somaliland leader to Israel.
According to officials, President Cirro will be accompanied by Yad Vashem Chairman Dani Dayan during a tour of the Holocaust History Museum, the Children’s Memorial, and the Book of Names. He is also expected to participate in a memorial ceremony at the Hall of Remembrance.
The visit highlights growing diplomatic engagement between Somaliland and Israel and reflects Hargeisa’s efforts to expand its international partnerships beyond the Horn of Africa
