The leader of the SSC – Khatumo administration, Khatumo Abdiqadir Ahmed Aw Ali Firdhiye, said that they are requesting the federal government of Somalia to give full recognition as it’s still transition administration.
Firdhiye said the existence of his administration is of great importance for the unity of the country, and to prevent the desire of the northern region as unity is progress.
Somaliland, which has separated itself from the federal government of Somalia has been pushing for international recognition although it hasn’t been recognized internationally.
“We have entered into a dialogue with the federal government. We promised to contribute to the unity and independence of the Republic of Somalia and we agreed to complete the remaining administrative issues and the federal government has promised to gave us our constitutional rights as an administration within the federal government of Somalia ” firdhiye said
Firdhiye, the leader of SSC-Khatumo, made history by participating in the meeting of the National Consultative Council for the first time, a significant step towards inclusivity and dialogue between the federal government and regional administrations in Somalia.
Firdhiye addressed the council, highlighting the general situation in SSC-Khatumo areas and advocating for the constitutional rights of his administration within the Federal Government of Somalia. He emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation among all stakeholders to advance the interests of SSC-Khatumo and contribute to the unity and independence of the Republic of Somalia.
The leader of the SSC told the federal government that they want to protect the existence of their administration to protect the unity of the country. He indicated that they are in defense day and night against a group that he said wants to undermine the unity and the progress of Somalia.
SSC Khatumo leader made this statements while speaking to the Somali community in Kenya during his visit.
