The Minister of Defense of the Federal Government of Somalia, Ahmed Moalim Fiqi, welcomed the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Somalia, Ahmed Bin Mohammed Al-Muwallad, at his office.
The meeting between the two leaders is said to reflects the ongoing collaboration between the two nations in various sectors, particularly in defense.
In a statement released by the Ministry of Defense, Minister Fiqi praised the vital role of Saudi Arabia in supporting the federal government of Somalia.
“I commend the vital role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in supporting Somalia, particularly in the areas of defense, the fight against Al-Shabaab, and projects aimed at enhancing the capabilities of the Somali National Army.”Fiqi said

Ambassador Al-Muwallad expressed his appreciation for the hospitality extended by Minister Fiqi. The ambassador noted the importance of continued partnership between Saudi Arabia and Somalia, emphasizing the shared goals of stability and security in the region.
Saudi Arabia has been active in implementing developmental projects in Somalia, focusing on humanitarian initiatives, economic infrastructure, and education. These efforts are crucial in assisting Somalia’s recovery and development after years of conflict and instability.
