Galmudug State of Somalia’s Independent Electoral Commission is set to hold five seats of lower house elections in Galkayo on Sunday today.
The committee yesterday registered and awarded the certificates to the candidates for the five seats, and the seats to be held today and the candidates who will run for office are:
1: Hop#101 will be contested by the Deputy Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Hirsi Aden Roble who is the current occupant of the seat & Aisho Hersi Mohamed.
2: Hop#013 who was occupied by Maryan Mohamed Hussein, but will be contested by Aden Osman Hussein (Qoryooley) Minister of Posts & Telecommunications Galmudug & Maymun Hussein Mohamed.
3: HOP seat # 060 will be contested by Ubah Tahliil Warsame currently sitting in this seat and Hodan Abdullahi Shire, Qaali Ali Shire, Ayaan Hussein Hassan (Wacan) and Nafiso Qasim Bulhan.
The fourth seat of HOP # 017 currently occupied by Duniya Mohamed Ali will be contested by Qaladla Ali Awale and Ahmed Osman Adan.
The fifth seat of Hop # 001 who is occupied by Warsame Mohamed Hassan (Joodah) but was eliminated to contest the race will be contested by Jawahir Mohamed Ahmed & Farhiyo Hassan Mohamed.
Galmudug administration has already completed the election of seats in Dhusamareb and is expected to soon complete the election of seats in Galkayo, some of which are sensitive
