Somalia and INTERPOL Discuss Crime Prevention Strategies

The Federal Government of Somalia’s Minister of Internal Security, General Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail alias (Fartaag), recently held a meeting with officials from INTERPOL.

This delegation was led by Joaquim Rodrigues, the Coordinator of the International Police Program, who arrived in the country today.

The discussions focused on enhancing international cooperation in combating transnational crime, which poses significant challenges across borders. This collaboration is crucial for addressing the complex nature of crime that affects multiple nations.

Minister Fartaag expressed his gratitude to the INTERPOL delegation for their efforts and the ongoing collaboration with the Somali government.

He acknowledged the importance of such partnerships in strengthening national security and effectively tackling crime.

The meeting he said underscored the need for a unified approach to crime prevention, emphasizing that international collaboration is essential for achieving lasting results. By working together, countries can share intelligence and resources, which is vital in the fight against organized crime.

This engagement is seen to reflects Somalia’s commitment to improving its security framework through international partnerships, highlighting the pivotal role that INTERPOL plays in supporting nations in their fight against crime.
