Somali Police Deploys Heavily Armed Troops to Quell Clan Clashes In Middle Shabelle Region

The Somali Police Command has dispatched a significant contingent of heavily armed troops to the Middle Shabelle region to address ongoing clashes between two tribal militias. In recent days, these militias have engaged in violent conflicts, resulting in over 20 fatalities in villages under the Biyo Adde area.

The deployment aims to intervene and mediate between the warring fraternal clans, restoring peace and stability in the affected areas. Commander of the Somali Police Force, Sulub Ahmed Firin, has issued directives to ensure the security of these conflict zones.

This escalation in police action underscores the urgency and severity of the situation, as inter-communal conflicts have frequently erupted in the Middle Shabelle region. The police forces are tasked with not only halting the immediate violence but also working towards long-term solutions to prevent future clashes.
