Somali journalist Hassan Kaafi Abdirahman Qoyste has died in Somalia’s capital,Mogadishu following a sudden illness, according to multiple sources.
He died on Friday night and is expected to be buried in the capital today.
Qoyste was a veteran journalist who worked with several media outlets during his career, including Somali VOA and Horn Afrik Radio.
He was famous for his work as a field reporter and was widely respected among colleagues in Somalia’s media community.
Journalists, media organizations and others who knew Qoyste have expressed condolences to his family, praying for Allah to grant him paradise.
Colleagues and friends condoled with the family praying Allah to have mercy on the late Hassan Kaafi Abdirahman Qoyste and grant patience and strength to his family.
