Somali Government Gears Up for Intense Second Phase Operation to Free Remaining Al-Shabaab-Held Areas

The Somali government has completed final preparations for the second phase of its operation against Al-Shabaab, aiming to free the remaining areas under their control.

Defense Minister Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur Jama met with top officials, Galmudug Regional Government forces, and local residents to discuss these preparations, which are more intense than the first phase.

The plan involves organizing federal forces, Darawish forces, and local residents in Galmudug to carry out operations in districts still occupied by Al-Shabaab.

The Minister of Defense for the Federal Government of Somalia, Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur Jama, held discussions with key government security officials, Galmudug Regional Government Darawish forces, and local residents to plan for the upcoming second phase of operations against Al-Shabaab.

This phase is expected to be more intense than the initial one. In the Galmudug region, efforts are being made to ready Federal Forces, Darawish forces, and organized local residents for coordinated operations aimed at liberating districts currently under ‘Al-Shabaab occupation.
