The Chief of the Somali Correctional Forces, Gen. Mahad Abdirahman Adan, alias ‘Taliye Shub ‘ announced significant changes within the police ranks aimed at addressing drug use and arms trafficking among personnel.

In his remarks, Major General Mahad highlighted the necessity of ensuring that police officers who conceal information about their peers involved in arms trafficking will face repercussions.
He urged all personnel to report any misconduct or breaches of military ethics. This initiative is part of a broader effort to maintain the integrity of the police force.
“Drug users will be expelled from the police. We will eliminate any corrupt elements. Senior officers will be sent to address this issue; those caught cannot simply claim ignorance or forgiveness under presidential directives,” said Mahad
