The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre, today held a high-level meeting with the Arab League’s Ambassador to Somalia, Abdalla Oteybi.
The discussions focused on “strengthening cooperation between Somalia and member states of the Arab League in the areas of politics, security, and economic development.”, according to brief statement.
Prime Minister Hamza expressed his appreciation for the Arab League’s support to Somalia, commending the organization’s role in fostering collaboration between the Somali government, its people, and Arab nations.
Ambassador Oteybi reaffirmed the Arab League’s commitment to enhancing Somalia’s role within the bloc and announced that a senior delegation from the Arab League will soon arrive in Mogadishu to implement a range of development projects.
The meeting forms part of the Somali government’s broader efforts to deepen diplomatic ties and international partnerships at a time when the country is navigating critical state-building and economic recovery processes.
