Close confidant reports is indicating about the killing of the Police Commander of Jariiban District in Mudug Region, Guled Abdulkadir Kadleeye.
A press statement released following an urgent meeting convened by the Mudug regional administration said that the alleged suspect has been arrested and now in custody.
The meeting, attended by the deceased commander’s family members and local traditional elders, concluded that the commander will be buried today, and that justice will be pursued by bringing the suspect before the courts of law to face justice.
The regional administration and security forces have so far not disclosed the motive behind the killing of the police commander.
The incident comes at a time when, in recent days,security operations including weapons-related crackdowns had been ongoing in Jariiban District and surrounding areas, aimed at improving safety.
Commander Guled had ordered that no lethal weapons or equipment be allowed inside Jariiban District.
