A courageous driver defied Alshabaab order to stop yesterday in an early morning attack at Jabibar, Lafey in Mandera County.
According to sources, the driver slowed down pretending to stop upon getting instructions from Alshabaab militia who appeared from the nearby road.
When two of the Militants proceeded towards the lorry, the driver ran over them killing two of them on the spot.
Unfortunately, 3 passengers in the lorry were shot dead after other militia who emerged from nearby sprayed the lorry with bullets. The driver of the ill-fated lorry and one passenger managed to escape with injuries.
The lorry was ferrying Miraa from Meru to Mandera.
