Somalia’s Minister of Interior Abdullahi Mohamed Nur has issued a new order to the acting Commander of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) Yassin Farey.
In a statement issued by Minister Abdullahi, the Acting NISA Commander has been instructed to hand over the security responsibilities of the NISA at the airport to the Police Force, and to withdraw all troops operating there.
The statement said that there was an increase in complaints from NISA to government agencies operating inside Aden Adde International Airport, and that they have raised thier concerns over various offences committed by the officers.
The Minister stated that the responsibility for the security of the airport will be that of the Police Force at the Airport Station from the date of the directive.
Aden Adde international airport was previously manned by NISA by security with plain clothes who were under command of former NISA Assistant director Abdullahi Kulane.
Analysts say the move is understood to be a tussle between Farmajo and Roble to take control of security agencies in the country.
