According to various sources, an advance delegation for the Presidents of the Puntland and Jubaland states is en route to Somalia’s capital,Mogadishu to participate in a meeting between the government and the opposition.
The first to arrive will be the security detail for Presidents Said Abdullahi Deni and Ahmed Mohamed Islaam Madoobe, followed by ministers and representatives from their offices.
The Federal Government’s technical committee and the opposition platform have been discussing arrangements regarding the recently redeployed troops to Garowe and Kismayo, though no detailed information has been released.
The technical committee has yet to clarify if the security teams accompanying the Puntland and Jubaland presidents will include more than 50 personnel, 40 of whom are expected to be armed with light weapons, or if they will be sending additional troops similar to those recently redeployed.
