Banadir announces grade eight examination results, With more than 44,000 Students Passing

The Banadir Regional Education Directorate has announced the results of this year’s Grade Eight intermediate school examination, with more than 45,000 students sitting for the examination across the region.

A total of 45,452 students took the examination, including both boys and girls. According to figures released by the education authorities, 20,666 were girls while 23,351 were boys.

The results showed a relatively low failure rate, with 1,435 students, representing approximately 3.2 percent, failing the examination. A total of 44,017 students passed, according to the announced results.

The Directorate said the examination papers had undergone a period of marking and assessment before the final results were released.

The top three performers were also announced. Sumayo Hassan Abshir Adam secured first place, followed by Balqiisa Mohamed Omar Mohamed in second place, while Ahmed Abdinasser Abdullahi Abdi took third place.

The students who achieved the highest marks were presented with awards in recognition of their academic performance and dedication.

Education officials said the recognition is intended to encourage the students to maintain their commitment to education as they transition from intermediate school to secondary education.

The release of the results marks an important milestone for thousands of students across Banadir as they prepare to begin the next stage of their education.
