UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has heaped praises on the political agreement reached in the disputed elections after a week long negotiations and the joint presentation of the breakthrough .
Antonio Guterres has however called on the Somali authorities to complete the process towards the realization of elections to take advantage of opportunities that came out of the agreement reached by all leaders.
He praised the agreement which is the basis of stability and will ensure that the elections are going to be a stable process and to draw lessons from problems of the past in a disputed election.
The UN Secretary-General calls for timely elections in Somalia so that the agreement on the timing is not compromised.
A ceremony was held in Mogadishu on Thursday, May 27, 2021, bringing together heads of federal and state government, federal members state governments, Candidates, various segments of society, representatives of the International Community and other key figures in the implementation of the electoral agreement.
