The Acting Speaker of the Federal Parliament of Somalia and First Deputy Speaker, Hon. Saadia Yasin Haji Samtar, has today issued a decree officially appointing the Committee for the Election of the Speaker of the House
According to a statement from the committee, the establishment of this committee is intended to ensure the smooth management of the election process for the Speaker of the House.
The committee’s role is said to to uphold integrity, transparency, and ensure that the process follows the law.
This appointment outlines the committee’s mandate to coordinate with relevant parliamentary offices and stakeholders to prepare for the election in an organized and timely manner, including overseeing the necessary administrative arrangements.
The decree emphasizes that all procedures will be conducted under applicable rules to maintain public confidence and support a fair and orderly outcome.
