Further details have emerged regarding a tragic car accident that resulted in multiple fatalities in Somalia’s capital,Mogadishu last night.
The accident reportedly occurred on the road leading to Jazeera, a suburban area of the city, where three individuals lost their lives. Among the deceased were two women and the driver of the vehicle according to reports.
Reports indicate that the victims were returning from Jazeera Beach when their car veered off the road and overturned, leaving the vehicle completely destroyed.
Eyewitnesses told the media that the car was engaged in a high-speed race with another vehicle on the Jazeera road before the accident happened according to reports.
Additional information revealed that the driver, a young man who had been trained in Eritrea as part of Somalia’s government forces, was also an active TikTok user.
Relatives of the victims, along with Somali government security forces, arrived at the scene shortly after the incident to recover the bodies.
Traffic accidents are not uncommon in Mogadishu, often caused by reckless driving and the poor condition of some roads.
