Abdi Hashi Abdullahi, the Speaker of Somalia’s Upper House of the Federal Parliament, recently received a message from Mohamed Ahmed Al Yamahi, the Speaker of the Arab Parliament.
According to a statement shared on the Upper House’s official social media page, the message included congratulations to the Speaker for his role in supporting Senator Abdihakim Maalin Ahmed in securing the position of Deputy Chairperson of the Finance and Economic Committee within the Arab Parliament.
“Honorable Speaker, I would like to take this golden opportunity to affirm my commitment to strengthening the solid foundation of collaboration between the Upper House and the Arab Parliament so that we can jointly serve the shared national causes of the member states within the Arab League.”The message from Speaker Hashi reads
The Federal Republic of Somalia is an active member of the Arab Parliament, and there is recently a strong cooperation between both legislative bodies. Members from both sides are working diligently to further enhance the partnership and coordination between Somalia’s Upper House and the Arab Parliament.
