The special forces of National Intelligence and Security Agency is said to have foiled Alshabab planned network after it has seized Tuk-Tuk and multiple explosive devices including suicide vests, primed for use in a terror attack to target Mogadishu’s Peace Garden
In a press release from the Ministry of Information, it was said that the army seized vests containing explosives that were intended to be planted inside Peace Park and a Bajaj motorcycle that was part of the plan to attack Peace Park was seized.
The NISA agency did not mention people who were arrested in connection with the bombing plans and activities, and the government of Somalia has not yet released further details relating to the same.
NISA said it was following Al-Shabaab’s activities in preparation for this attack, which ultimately led to the intelligence foiling the attack that Al-Shabaab intended.
Peace Garden Center near Eelgaabta Junction is a gathering place for young people from Mogadishu and neighbouring areas to visit, and tour the area, The officials ftom Peace Garden Center in Mogadishu has not yet commented on this issue.
